I was visiting a friend in LA, and we were looking for a program that
might have been on a little earlier. He has AC Cable. He said, "We'll
look it up On Demand." I thought that was like pay TV. He said no. We
never found the program, but is that the way it works on DirecTV? That
is there is an On Demand facility, and you can re-watch programs? If
so, how far back?

Are you asking about AC Cable, whatever that is, or DirecTV? I assume
the On Demand offerings differ somewhat between different providers.

DirecTV. AC Cable is apparently a big cable outfit in the LA area. I
looked in our DTV book last night, and it referred me to channel 1000,
then to the appendix. It looks like it gets one to the internet. I
stopped there. Maybe I'll look again today.

You may get a better response if you post your question to the DirecTV
group, alt.dbs.directv.

Weird. I live near L.A. and never heard of/seen this "AC Cable" before.
I can't seem to find anything about it online. :(
