(too old to reply)

Can anyone help?

I bought a Kworld PCI PlusTV DVB-S100 card from Maplin 3 months ago and
it worked fine (on Freesat channels) recording OK etc etc.
Suddenly it has come up with error SVTR.exe has encountered a problem
which turns out to be a problem with ntdll.dll
WE have tried multiple re-installs ( a real pain as the uninstaller
doesn't remove all files) all to no avail.
In the meantime I have e-mailed Kworld in Taiwan but don't expect a
sensible reply.
As it was only £40, I am tempted to throw it in the bin!

Looking around, it seems like the Hauppage HVR 3000 may be a better bet
(about £85 via Amazon)and reportedly does DVBS, DVBT and FM.
I just want to be able to record Freesat on the PC so it can be saved
directly without going through analogue etc etc from the other DVBT
receiver or Sky box.

Not aquainted with the card at all, nevertheless I'll chance two
suggestions:

1) You have acquired a virus which has corrupted ntdll.dll

Clean up the PC as per any virus and ensure that you have an
uncorrupted original MS file. Improve your AV protection generally.

2) A recent MS upgrade has changed ntdll.dll

Check in Windows Update what upgrades have recently occurred, then
check up on the MS website ...
http://support.microsoft.com/
... whether any of them have actually changed ntdll.dll. If so,
you'll have to hope the manufacturers come up with an upgraded set of
drivers/files compatible with the new version.

Thanks Java

I think that as we tried a system restore back to when it was working,
its not a ntdll problem. The file in use was quite old and we tried teh
old 'rename' trick to get a new one extracted and still no joy - pooh!!
